The ANC Youth League in the Norman Mashabane region says it is deeply alarmed by the continued rise in gender-based violence and rape, which continues to terrorize young women and children in local communities.
This statement follows a recent regional meeting, during which the youth league discussed GBV, as well as the suspension of one of its members over ongoing social media insults directed at both the ANC and youth league members.
Their concerns come in the wake of a recent murder case in the region, where police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who allegedly stabbed and killed a 44-year-old woman earlier this week.
