Limpopo Gambling Board, which continues with its efforts of encouraging responsible gambling, says the mere addition of money as a bet or incentive for the winner in unregulated gaming activities can land one directly in jail or they can be fined for engaging in illegal gambling activities.

The entity says some of the common illegal activities that include money bets are fafi, dice, cards and morabaraba which are played within communities or on street corners.

Spokesperson for Limpopo Gambling Board, Zaid Kalla says the thrill brought about by online gaming, home TV games, and unregulated community tournaments continues to negatively evolve and creates confusion between gaming and gambling.

Kalla says the department and its entity are against all unregulated gaming activities which include betting or cash payout, accessories, objects and personal belongings as motivation.
